Tomb Raider, Deus Ex… Bought for a small amount

We start this week energetically with a Daily full of information! In the menu, Animal Crossing and NFTs, the acquisition of large Square Enix licenses by a Danish publisher and then we end up with something new in Avatar 2. The Daily, here it is!

Animal Crossing NFT: the desire of the former Nintendo America boss

Well, NFT. For the support plan, these are property titles that certify that a virtual property is yours. Everything is based on Blockchain technology, giving life and value to your cryptocurrency. It’s very fashionable right now, to the point that even former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé is interested in it. Declares: “I believe in blockchain, I think it’s a technology that really has something to contribute. When I invest 50, a hundred or 300 hours in a game and I want to move on, I think it would be great to be able to make money from what I built all those hours. A reason that divides rather than unites.

Tomb Raider and Deus Ex: sold by Square Enix at a shock price!

The list of acquisitions continues to expand, this time with Square Enix. Basically, children are not just anyone. They own Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, Just Cause, Kingdom Hearts, Legacy of Kain, Star Ocean, Valkyrie Profile… But against all odds, the Japanese video game giant has just sold a large number of of his assets in Embracer Group, Danish publisher. They are not new to the industry as they have bought many studios in the last five years for a total of 110 in 2021. Here we are talking about fifty titles, including the franchises Tomb Raider, Deus Ex and Legacy of Kain. On paper we say to ourselves that the redemption price will be huge, given the licenses and yet … no. The transaction totals $ 300 million, which is nothing compared to what is happening in the industry. As a reminder, Electronic Arts bought the Respawn studio, which had only one license (Titanfall), for the same amount. The reason ? Square Enix wanted to get rid of its western studios for a long time, which were considered too low.

Avatar 2: the first images are here!

Avatar: The Way of Water. Here is the official title of Avatar 2, scheduled for December 17, 2022 in cinemas. Five Avatar movies have already been scheduled, but this second installment is long overdue. But everything comes on time who knows how to wait! A trailer has finally been released, but only as an exclusive for the lucky few who arrived at Cinemacon. Don’t worry, it will also be available during Doctor Strange’s May 4 movie screening at Multiverse of Madness. For ordinary mortals, it should be released next week. A small clarification that pleases, the films will be independent of each other, so there is no arm between each episode. The story should continue that of Jake Sully and Neytiri, the parties formed a family, near the ocean.
