Already rich with three references (Watch 3, Watch 3 Pro, Watch GT 3), the Huawei 3 series of watches welcomes a new representative: the Watch GT 3 Pro. Replacing the GT 2 Pro, it brings an extra dose of luxury to the Watch GT 3 and at the same time enriches it with specific features.
Titanium or ceramic depending on the size of the watch
First of all, in terms of design, Huawei chooses noble materials: titanium for the version 46.6 mm (46.6 x 46.6 x 10.9 mm), ceramic nanocrystalline and gold steel frame for the 42.9 mm (42.9 x 42.9 x 10.5 mm). The case of the first weighs 54 g and is accompanied by straps made of Viton leather or fluoro rubber, while you can choose leather or ceramic for the second whose case weighs 4 g less.
Behind a sapphire crystal, the Watch GT 3 Pro Titanium houses a 1.43 “Amoled screen while the GT 3 Pro Ceramic has a 1.32” screen due to its more compact case. The latter should also suffice with a range of up to 7 days, half of the Titanium version and its largest battery.
The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro is naturally packed with sensors of all kinds: accelerometer, gyroscope sensors, compass, optical heart rate sensor, barometer, GPS, temperature sensor and SpO2 sensor. Sensors used to monitor health, sleep and stress, but also for more than 100 built-in sports functions.
Sports features such as golf and scuba diving
Challenge sports precisely, among the more than 100 built-in sports features, Huawei highlights the golf course functionality of its GT 3 Pro, including hundreds of courts (more than 300 in China). The watch is able to display land maps and indicate the speed and direction of the wind, but also to analyze the shots and provide posture tips. Of course, he records the various shots that were made during the lesson and makes a technical analysis as soon as it is over.
Thanks to the enhanced waterproofing (IP68 and 5 ATM), the Watch GT 3 Pro is also intended for swimming, Huawei even states that its watch complies with the EN13319 diving standard and supports snorkeling at a depth of 30 meters. It also incorporates a specific dive function, which displays on the clock the depth you have reached, the ascent, the speed and the duration of the dive, without forgetting safety reminders so you do not forget to climb in time. It also allows you to exercise apnea. Despite the improved water resistance, the manufacturer does not recommend the use of the watch in hot springs, Turkish baths, platform dives and other activities where the water pressure may be high.
Full of health functions with ECG analysis
In terms of health, the biggest innovation lies in the ability to perform electrocardiograms (ECG) with the GT 3 Pro, thanks to the electrodes placed on the sides of the watch. Huawei also highlights TruSeen 5.0+ heart rate monitoring technology based on the 8 photoelectric sensors on the back of the watch. There is also sleep monitoring (TruSleep 2.0) and anxiety (TruRelax).
Prices depending on the services
With such finishes and so many sensors and functions, we did not expect a cheap watch. The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro actually appears with no less than 2,488 yuan (€ 355 without tax) in the titanium version and 2,988 yuan in the ceramic version (€ 427 without tax). A clear high-end installation, even more than the Watch GT 2 Pro released by Huawei in France in September 2020 at € 299.99. We will have to wait a little longer before we find out the availability in France and the prices in euros of this Watch GT 3 Pro which should offer impeccable services to face its competitors in this price segment.
